YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Rangers,
We have had some recent and heartbreaking losses in our Ranger family. I know it makes us all hurt. We all wonder if we could have done something. Bottom line--Suicide sucks!
So, I want you to hear me clearly, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Your courage, sacrifice, and strength are deeply respected! What you did for our Regiment and our Nation make you worthy of love. I promise you that you have Ranger brothers out there who care.
Behind every mission and every moment of silence, there are people who care for you! Who are they? Your family, your Ranger buddies, and a veteran community that stands ready to walk with you, not just while you are in the Regiment but as a Ranger for Life!
If you are hurting, struggling, or just feeling overwhelmed, please don’t carry that weight alone. Reaching out isn’t weakness—it’s strength. I urge you to talk to someone. A family member. A pastor. A chaplain. A Ranger Buddy. You matter. Your life matters!
To show you how important you are, here is a photo from Ranger Scot Noss’s recent Memorial Service in Trussville, AL. Many of you will remember that SFC Scot Noss (B Co 3/75) was badly wounded in a Chinook crash in Afghanistan in 2007. Of the 24 onboard, 8 were killed and the remaining 16 were all wounded. Scot was the most seriously wounded and lived in a minimally conscious state for the next 18 years until he finally succumbed to his wounds on 20 July 2025.
Look closely at the attached photo taken shortly after Scot’s service on 25 July 2025. RHQ and 3/75 sent 14 x Rangers to honor Scot’s service. An additional 31 x USAF SOF, Army Medical Personnel and former Ranger Buddies showed up to pay their respects. Why? Because they care. Because Scot mattered. Because all Rangers matter!
So, I have decided we are going to honor those we’ve lost already by caring more fiercely for the living. We have lost too many. Let this be a time when brotherhood means not just standing beside one another in war, but standing beside one another in peace, in healing, and in hope.
Pay attention to future opportunities through TRF to plug into our Ranger Brotherhood.
With all respect and love,
Rangers Lead the Way!
