THANKSGIVING

Rangers,

As Thanksgiving approaches, I find myself grateful for the simple blessings we sometimes take for granted: a hot meal after a long day, the laughter of children/granchildren, the comfort one gets from that last pair of dry socks you find in the bottom of a rucksack, or simply of knowing that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. Scripture reminds us, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever” (Psalm 107:1).

Even when duty calls us far from home, true gratitude has a way of grounding us. Around the table—whether it’s in the Battalion Mess Hall, with leaders serving you in their dress uniforms, or around your family’s Thanksgiving table, be reminded that we are never truly alone. The Lord walks with us, and the 75th Ranger Regiment stands as a family bound by both service and sacrifice.

I encourage you this season to pause and name out loud some of the blessings in your life. Maybe it’s the strength to face another day, the support of loved ones, or the brotherhood you find in your fellow Rangers. Regardless of what you are thankful for, just pause and reflect on the blessings in your life—the strength to carry out your mission, the love of family and friends, and the bond we share as Rangers. As Psalm 100:4 reminds us, “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and bless His name.”

May your Thanksgiving be filled with peace, joy, and the assurance that God’s love surrounds you—whether you’re at home or deployed. From my heart to yours, thank you for the way you serve, love, and lead.

Here is my prayer for you and yours this Thanksgiving:
Heavenly Father, We thank You for the gift of the 75th Ranger Regiment, for the courage of our Rangers—past, present, and future, and for the families who stand beside them with unwavering love. We ask Your blessings over every household this Thanksgiving—may their tables be filled with joy, their hearts with peace, and their lives with hope. Protect those who are far from home, strengthen those who carry heavy burdens, and comfort those who grieve. May Your presence be felt in every place where Rangers live and serve, reminding us that we are never alone. Lord, grant us grateful hearts, steadfast faith, and the assurance that Your love endures forever. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
