John Bartow
VA Services Director
John is a VA accredited Veteran Service Officer with a National Veteran/Military Service Non-Profit. He brings 27 years of multi-service military service experience and a broad range of Veteran’s advocacy and legal knowledge to bear in the service of our Rangers and their families. John served in B Company 1/75 as a 1st Platoon RTO in 1990-1991 and in two Long Range Surveillance Units before leaving the Army in 1994, when he joined the US Air Force. He served in every conflict across all continents as a C-130 Loadmaster; later joining the US Antarctic Program flying hundreds of missions in the polar regions. He retired in 2016 and immediately began work as a VSO.
John is passionate and devoted in his service to current and former members of the Regiment as well as other SOF units. He values a strong human connection to his clients and focuses on reducing stress felt by many within the process of dealing with the VA. John seeks to educate his clients, set expectations, and ensure that he is aligned with their goals (aiming at the same target) in order to secure their benefits. A vital part of John’s role at TRF will be connecting Rangers and their families to the best resources for their needs and objectives. He strongly shares TRF’s vision of successful transition from military service, living the Creed, and preparing Rangers to help one another for life.
John lives in Saint Augustine, Florida, where he enjoys time with his very large family, Hawaiian ocean outrigger canoe paddling, and being a part of his Church community.
