Dan Knight
Spiritual Fitness Director
Dan serves full‑time as a Chaplain with Operation Heal Our Patriots (OHOP), a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse dedicated to strengthening the marriages of wounded veteran couples and guiding them toward a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. He and his wife, Gaye, work side‑by‑side in this mission, offering biblical counseling, spiritual support, and practical encouragement to veterans and their spouses as they navigate the unique challenges of military life, trauma, and recovery.
Dan’s ministry is shaped by more than 30 years of distinguished Army service. His career took him through a wide range of elite Airborne, Ranger, and Special Operations units, including assignments in 3/75, 2/75, and the Regimental Headquarters. Beyond his Ranger and Special Forces roles, he also served as an Army Chaplain in combat with both the 82nd Airborne Division and the 1st Special Forces Group. Over the course of his service, Dan completed 11 combat deployments and was wounded twice, giving him firsthand understanding of the physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds that many in the Ranger community carry.
Because of this deep personal experience, Dan continues to pour into the Ranger brotherhood. He serves as Chaplain for the 75th Ranger Regiment Association and supports Three Rangers Foundation (TRF), as our Spiritual Fitness Advisor, helping fellow Rangers remain “mentally alert, physically strong, and morally straight.” His ministry extends well beyond formal roles—he is a steady presence for those who need counsel, prayer, or simply someone who understands the weight of combat and service.
Outside of his chaplaincy work, Dan treasures time on his farm with Gaye, their children, and grandchildren. He enjoys teaching in his local church and leading short‑term disaster relief teams made up of OHOP alumni across the United States. Whether he is serving veterans, supporting Rangers, or guiding couples toward Christ, Dan’s life reflects a consistent commitment to faith, family, and the healing work of the Gospel.
