TONY MARINELLO

Tony hails from upstate New York and grew up where Robert Rogers developed the famous “Rules of Ranging” which are followed to this day by the 75th Ranger Regiment.  After undergraduate studies, where Tony was collegiate hockey player, he attended graduate school at the University of Albany where he competed in the New York State Golden Gloves Boxing circuit.  After completion of graduate school, Tony was commissioned as an active duty Second Lieutenant and Military Intelligence Officer in 2010.  

After his completion of Airborne, Ranger and Mountain Warfare Schools, Tony served as a platoon leader in the 532nd Military Intelligence Battalion in South Korea before coming to the Ranger Regiment as a junior Officer.  Tony fulfilled his charter time within Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) at Fort Huachuca, AZ as the Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) Company Commander and as a 111th Military Intelligence Brigade Staff Officer before returning again to the Regiment.  In totality, Tony served in 1st Ranger Battalion as Assistant Intelligence (AS2) Officer, 3d Ranger Battalion as the Intelligence (S2) and the Ranger Military Intelligence Battalion (RMIB) as a Company Commander. 

In 2019, Tony separated from the Army and is now an Operations Leader at Amazon, a Fortune 500 company.  Tony is a husband and father and enjoys fishing, painting and woodworking.  He focuses his time on leadership development writing, speaking and coaching. On Memorial Day this year, Tony published his first book “Leadership Dark Matter – From Special Operations to Fortune 500.”
